OVERVIEW
Clara Francesca, based in NYC, is an Italian/Australian bi-lingual actor and alumnus of Anne Bogart’s SITI Company’s Inaugural Conservatory, with work ranging from traditional screen and stage acting to poetic immersive avant-garde. Clara won Best Actress at the Melbourne Arts Centre Fairfax Stage for self-devised piece “Susan Who?” about underage coerced sex work and government responsibilities. Clara received the Dame Joan Sutherland Fund for excellence in Performance.

Theatrical works include: Making Marx (Edinburgh Fringe Festival dir. Guy Masterson) Metamorphosis (KafkaTech), 43 Stages of Grief (The Tank), The Brick Theater (Macbeth, Hamlet, Three Sisters), Live Arts The Phoenix Theatre (Skin of Our Teeth, Wind In The Willows), NYC’s Hayden Planetarium (MarsBand), La Mama (The Well), and Firenze Cinema la Compagnia (Speaking Dante: The Divine Comedy in 24 hours).

Clara is the recipient of The Austrian American Federal Award allowing for her work with XREnsemble co-founder Anne Wichmann (aka She’s Excited) to tour their works “Inescapable Entanglement” (the year the incredible Laurie Anderson headlined!) & “You Are BUTIFL” to Internationally Renowned Festival Ars Electronica, after being lauded as the hosts for the inaugural NYC Ars Electronica International Festival Garden and featured as candidates on the Online Prix Ars Electronica with their work “The New Cosmic Symphony”. Clara teaches XR at MOMI (Museum of The Moving Image), was a guest professor and artist in XR at HTW Berlin – University of Applied Sciences College in Berlin Germany, a guest collaborated with XREnsemble MANIFEST:IO the symposium for new media and electronic art in Berlin Germany, the voice over/tour guide/floating lips to Umber Majeed’s Solo Show as a Jerome Fellow featured at THE Queens Museum called “J😊Y TECH”, has also collaborated with Gabriel Barcia-Colombo and Benita de Wit on XR projects and much more.

The story behind the full and sometimes credited name “Clara Francesca Pagone”, which translates to “Famous Free Peacock”, is one she loves sharing in conversation.
